As this is an informal site, there is not a complete set of formal policies. That isn't to say there are no policies for this site. The following paragraphs outline the principles behind the informal policies for this site.
As long as a visitor to this site doesn't do anything wrong, we will not disclose any data about the visit to anyone outside this site. If the access looks suspicious, it may be reported to whomever is deemed the best contact(s) to report the visit. The determination of suspicious activity is done by a human. Simple mistakes in typing and such are not considered to be suspicious. Normal visitors do not need to be concerned that we will let anyone know that you visited or what you did.
Privacy does not mean anonymity. The architecture of the Internet and web servers means that any access of this site will leave some traces. Some of these traces are seen in the log files serving this web site. An analogy to this is security cameras for a parking garage. From the cameras one can see the license plate of every visitor's vehicle, as well as the color, model, and manufacturer. (Unlike the real world, the license plate is not always associated with the same vehicle. Some license plate numbers are always used for the same vehicle, others might be shared between different vehicles.) Most vehicles come and go and that is that. When the security tapes are reviewed, if a vehicle does something unusual, then a check is done.
As mentioned on the home page, I do not allow organizations to use my name or to contact me to make solications other than permitted in my Junkbusters Declaration and my Junkbusters SPAMoff.
This sites strives to be accessible to many different users. Vendor specific HTML tags and attributes are avoided. Alternate attributes are used so visitors that cannot or chose not to view images may still understand and navigate the site.
This site exists to share data and information. The data and information comes from us or our friends and associates. Attempts by others to relay or forward data via this site is not allowed. Offending sites may have their IP address or network block denied further access to this site.
